I have done this journey a few times myself when I was living and studying in Berlin. A cheap holiday week end when you get the train saver ticket! A long day however, too but you can sleep on the beach or stay in the local youth hostel or a B & B if you like. I miss those beautiful warm summer days home. However, even in Ireland the sun shines sometimes. Yours Julia
Ich habe diese Reise einige Male selbst gemacht, als ich noch in Berlin lebte und studierte. Ein billiges Urlaubswochenende mit dem Super Spar Ticket! Aber auch ein langer Tag! Aber man kann ja auch am Strand schlafen oder in der ansaessigen Jugendherberge oder in einer Pension ueber Nacht bleiben, …wenn man mag… Ich vermisse diese warmen Sommertage doch ein wenig, aber auch in Irland scheint ja manchmal die Sonne. Űbung 12 (2.2) – Lesson (2.2)
Elaine und Kieron fahren zur See
Es ist Kierons zweiter freier Tag.
Er trift sich mit Elaine auf dem S-Bahnhof Yorkstraβe.
„Hallo!“ sagt Kieron und wirft seine Arme um Elaine. Auch Elaine freut sich.
Sie tragen beide einen groβen Rucksack und nehmen die S-Bahn zum Hauptbahnhof.
„Hast du schon gefrühstückt?“ fragt Kieron unterwegs.
„Nein.“ sagt Elaine und zeigt auf eine zweite Tasche, die an ihrer Seite hängt.
„Ich habe Frühstück mitgebracht!“ sagt sie stolz und Kieron lacht.
Auf dem Hauptbahnhof angekommen, nehmen sie die Regionalbahn nach Warnemünde.
Die Fahrt ist lang, kappe drei Stunden. Elaine packt das Frühstück aus.
Sie hat sogar eine Thermoskanne mit heiβem Tee mitgebracht.
„Milch darf natürlich nicht fehlen!“ sagt Kieron.
…und hält das kleine Kännchen hoch.
„Toll!“ sagt Elaine. “Du bist immer so fürsorglich!”
In Rostock müssen sie umsteigen.
Von dort aus sind es noch 10 Minuten und dann der Spaziergang zum Strand.
Endlich am Ziel freuen sich beide! Der Strand ist nicht weit und dann ist es soweit.
„Waohhhh!“ flüstert Kieron. „Das hat sich gelohnt!“
Der Sand ist Schnee weiβ, die Sonne scheint und die Wellen rauschen!
„Super!“ sagt Elaine und beide machen es sich für den Tag am Strand bequem.
„Komm Elaine, ich kreme dir besser den Rücken ein!“ meint Kieron.
„So ist es recht!“ sagt Elaine.
„Ich dachte schon, du hättest mich über dem schönen Wetter schon total vergessen!“

Elaine and Kieron at the seaside
It’s Kieron’s second day off.
He is meeting Elaine at the train station.
“Hi!” says Kieron and throws his arms around Elaine. Elaine is happy, too.
Both are carrying a big bag and are taking the train to the main train station.
“Have you had breakfast yet?” asks Kieron on the way.
“No.” Says Elaine und shows him the second bag she’s carrying on her side.
“I have brought breakfast!” she says proudly and Kieron laughs.
They arrive at the main train station and take the regional train to Warnemünde.
It’s a long journey (literally: drive), almost three hours. Elaine takes out the breakfast.
She also brought a flask with hot tea!
“And we have milk, too!” says Kieron. (Litterally: We can’t miss out on milk!”)
…he lifts up and shows (Elaine) the small bottle of milk.
“Great!” says Elaine. “You are always so thoughtful / caring!”
They have to change trains in Rostock.
It takes ten minutes from here and afterwards a short walk to the beach.
When they arrive in the end, both are happy! The beach is not far and then here they are!
“Waohhhh!” whispers Kieron. “That was worth it!”
The sand is snow white, the sun is shining and you can hear the sound of the waves!
“Super!” says Elaine and both are sitting comfortably down on the beach.
“Come on Elaine, I better put some sun lotion on your back!” states Kieron.
“Very good!” says Elaine. (Literally: This is correct.)
