Kieron läd Elaine zum Frühstück ein.

„Kann ich dich zum Kino einladen?“ fragt Kieron Elaine.

Ich lade dich zu meinem Gebustag ein.

Du lädst mich ein.

Wir laden sie ein.

Sie haben uns zum Geburtstag eingeladen.

Wie geht es dir?

Kieron invites Elaine for breakfast.

“Can I invite you to cinema?” asks Kieron Elaine.

I invite you to my birthday.

We invite them.

They invited us to their birthday.

Great, thanks!

Not too bad.

I am fine.

I could be better.

Do you fancy…

Script – Lesson 3 – New Version (2011) – Kieron hat Feierabend

Űbung 3 – Lesson 3 – New Version (2011)

Kieron hat Feierabend 

Es ist vier Uhr dreiβig. Kieron hat Feierabend.

„Bis morgen!“ sagt er zu seinem Kollegen Robert, der noch weiter arbeitet.

„O.k. Hab‘ einen schönen Abend Kieron!“ antwortet Robert.

„Kieron läuft runter zum Mehring Damm  und nimmt die U Bahn nach Tegel.“

Er fragt sich, ob Elaine ihn heute Abend anrufen wird.

Auf dem Nachhauseweg kauft er einen eine Boulette mit Pommes im Schnellimbiβ.

Er schaut sich die Nachrichten an, als das Telefon klingelt.

„Hallo Elaine! Was gibt es Neues?“

„Hallo Kieron, entschuldige, daβ ich dich schon wieder störe…“

„Kein Problem! Ich wollte dich auch  gerad anrufen!“ lügt Kieron.

„Ich dachte, wir könnten morgen ins Kino gehen?“ fügt er vorsichtig hinzu.

„Gerne!“ sagt Elaine und freut sich. „Treffen wir uns um sieben vor dem Hohlen Zahn?“

„Gut. Dann bis morgen!“ sagt Kieron und legt auf.

Kieron finishes work / comes home from work

It’s four thirty. Kieron finishes work.

“See you tomorrow!” he says to Robert who continues working.

“Alright. Have a nice evening!” replies Robert.

Kieron walks to Mehring Damm and takes the underground train to Tegel.

He wonders if Elaine will call him tonight.

On the way home, he buys a beef burger and chips in a take away.

He is watching the news when the telephone rings.

“Hi Elaine! What’s up?”

“Hello Kieron, I am sorry to bother you again…”

“No problem. I wanted to ring you, too.” Lies Kieron.

“I thought we could go to cinema tomorrow?” he adds cautiously.

“I’d love to!” says Elaine happy. “Will we meet at seven at the cathedral?”

“Great! See you tomorrow then!” says Kieron and hangs up.

der Hohle Zahn –  The Kaiser Wilhelm Gedächtniskirche is called by the older generation of Berlin people der Hohle Zahn. The church is located at Kudam in the city centre of Berlin. It was bombed during Wolrd War II and was left as a monument to remember after war. It resembles in its shape a tooth that has lost its filling or crown (hohl – unfilled, empty inside). The church is not far from Bahnhof Zoo (“Have you seen the iconic movie Die Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo?”), the zoological garden, the aquarium and a vast shopping area as well as cinemas and theatres.

Mehring Damm is a busy street and underground station in Berlin Tempelhof, close to a well known area with alternative coffee shops and night life (Bergmann Straβe). Two of the underground lines, the U7 and U6, are crossing here. The U7 is coming from Rudow (connected by bus to the airport Schönefeld) and is going to Altstadt-Spandau, an area which was more than 750 years ago a city on its own and which has preserved an individual town character. The U6 however comes from Alt-Mariendorf and goes to Tegel, the older airport of Berlin.

Elaine und Kieron frühstücken zusammen 

Elaine klopft an Kierons Tür.

„Komm rein! Es ist offen!“

Beide sitzen am Frühstückstisch.

Elaine greift nach einem Brötchen.

„Möchtest du etwas Marmelade?“ fragt Kieron.

„Ja, gerne!“ sagt Elaine und lächelt.

Elaine is knocking on Kieron’s door.

“Come in! It’s open!”

Both are sitting at the breakfast table.

Elaine reaches for a breakfast roll.

“Would you like some jam?” asks Kieron.

“Yes, I’d like some!” says Elaine and smiles.

Es ist Sonntag.

Kieron ist früh aufgewacht.

Er greift nach dem Telefon und wählt Elaines Nummer.

„Hallo Elaine. Wie geht es Dir?“

Elaine gähnt.  „Mir geht es gut und dir?“

„Wie spät ist es?“ will sie dann wissen.

„Sieben Uhr fünfunddreiβig… sechunddreiβig!“ sagt Kieron vorsichtig.

„Hast du Lust auf Frühstück?“ fügt er dann hinzu.

„Ja, das wäre toll!“ sagt Elaine immernoch müde.

„Kommst du um neun Uhr rüber?“ fragt Kieron.

„Ja, natürlich! Dann bis neun Kieron!“ sagt sie bevor sie auflegt.

 

Kieron invites Elaine for breakfast – pimped 2011

It is Sunday.

Kieron woke up early.

He picks up the telephone and dials Elaine’s number.

“Hello Elaine. How are you?”

Elaine is yawning. “I am fine and you?”

“What time is it?” she wants to know then.

“Seven thirty five… thirty six!” says Kieron cautiously.

“Do you fancy breakfast?” he adds then.

“Yeah, that would be great” says Elaine still tired.

“Are you coming over at nine?” asks Kieron.

“Yes, sure, see you at nine!” says Elaine before hanging up.

Kieron und Elaine gehen Einkaufen  

Kieron holt Elaine mit dem Auto ab.

Sie fahren in Richtung Norden.

“Dein Fiat ist aber noch gut in Schuβ!” sagt Elaine.

“Ich weiβ!” antwortet Kieron.

Sie parken das Auto auf dem Parkplatz der Möbelwelt.

“Komm, wir gehen rein!” sagt Kieron aufgeregt.

Die Möbelwelt  hat ein groβes Angebot.

Elaine mag besonders das rote Sofa und testet wie es sich sitzt.

“Echt klasse!” sagt sie zu Kieron, der sich die Schreibtische ansieht.

“Komm, wir gehen in die Bettenabteilung!” schlägt Elaine dann vor.

 

Kieron and Elaine go shopping

Kieron picks Elaine up in his car.

They are driving north.

“Your Fiat is still great!” says Elaine.

“I know!” replies Kieron.

They park the car on the car park of Furniture World.

“Come on. Let’s go in!” says Kieron excited.

Furniture World has a lot on display.

Elaine likes especially the red sofa and takes a seat for testing.

“This is great!” says Elaine to Kieron who is looking at the desks.

“Let’s go to the bed section!” proposes Elaine then…

Script – Lesson 6 – Kieron und Elaine hören Musik

Kieron und Elaine hören Musik  

Es ist spät.

Kieron liegt auf dem Sofa und hört Musik.

Elaine sitzt im Sessel und spannt aus. Sie ist müde.

“Weiβt du, daβ ich glücklich bin?” singt Kieron leise.

Elaine schaut auf die Uhr und überlegt wielange sie noch bleiben kann.

“Kieron, ich muβ leider gehen!” sagt sie dann…

…und fragt ihn, ob er sie nach Hause fährt.

“Schade!” sagt Kieron enttäuscht, steht auf und zieht sich die Schuhe an.

Der Fiat rattert die Strassen entlang. Es regnet.

“Weiβt Du, daβ ich glücklich bin!” singt Kieron, als Elaine aussteigt.

Kieron and Elaine are listening to music

It’s late.

Kieron is lying on the sofa and listens to music.

Elaine is sitting in an arm chair and is relaxing. She is tired.

“Do you know how happy I am?” sings Kieron with low voice.

Elaine looks at her watch, wondering how long she could stay.

“Kieron, I have unfortunately to go!” she says then…

…and asks him then if he could drive her home.

“It’s a pity!” says Kieron disappointed, gets up and puts on his shoes.

The Fiat rattles along the roads.

It’s raining.

“Do you know how happy I am?” sings Kieron when Elaine gets off the car.

Kieron ist krank

Kieron is ill

Kieron liegt im Bett und hustet heftig.

Er hat Kopf- und Halsschmerzen.

Er schickt Elaine eine SMS: “Fühle mich gar nicht gut…”

“…was mach ich blos?” fragt er am Ende.

Dann wartet er… Seine Nase läuft ebenfalls.

Das Handy biept. Elaine hat zurück geschrieben.

“Bleib im Bett!” schreibt Sie. “Trink eine heisse Zitrone und viel Wasser!”

Kieron liest weiter und hofft, daβ sie noch etwas nettes sagt.

“Ich komme sobald ich kann nach der Arbeit vorbei!” liest er dann.

Nun geht es ihm gleich besser. Auch die Kopfschmerzen haben schon abgenommen.

Kieron is ill

Kieron is lying in bed and is coughing heavily.

He has a headache and a sore throat.

He sends a text message to

Elaine: “Feeling very unwell…”

“”…what will I do?” he asks in the end.

He is waiting… His nose is running, too.

The cell phone is beeping. Elaine texted back.

“Stay in bed.” she texts and: “Drink a hot lemon and a lot of water.”

Kieron keeps reading and hopes that she will also say something nice.

“I will be down in your place asap after work!” he reads then.

Now he is feeling much better. Even the headache is almost gone.

Script – Lesson 8 – Kieron und Elaine schauen Fern

Kieron und Elaine schauen Fern  

Es ist Sonntag Abend. Elaine ist bei Kieron zu Besuch.

Heute liegen beide auf dem groβen Sofa.

“Ich fuehle mich heute schon viel besser!” sagt Kieron sanft zu Elaine.

“Gut. Dann kannst du morgen wieder arbeiten gehen!”

Kieron seufzt. Das hoert er gar nicht gerne.

Dann beginnt der Film. Heute ein Krimi mit Lena Odenthal.

“Echt klasse!” sagt Kieron und hustet wieder.

“Schhht!” macht Elaine. “Sei doch leise!”

Am Ende fängt  Lena den Mörder und der Abspann läuft.

“Waohh… das war ja wieder mal spitzenklasse!” sagt Kieron begeistert.

Auch Elaine ist begeistert. Sie fragt sich jedoch, ob Kieron Lena lieber mag?

Kieron und Elaine are watching TV

 It’s Sunday evening. Elaine is visiting Kieron.

Today both are lying on the big sofa.

“I feel much better today!” says Kieron gently to Elaine.

“Fine. Then you can return to work tomorrow.”

Kieron sighs. He did not like to hear that.

Then the movie starts. Today it’s a crime story with Lena Odenthal.

“Excellent!” says Kieron and coughs again.

“Pssst..!” does Elaine. “Be quiet!”

In the end Lena catches the killer and the credits are running.

“Waohhh… that was again brilliant!” says

Kieron with enthusiasm.

Elaine is excited, too. However, she is asking herself if Kieron likes Lena better than her?

Tatort music by Klaus Doldinger  (1970)

Tatort (Crime Scene) is a crime series produced by the German television (ARD) for many years. Tatort prime time is always on Sundays at 8pm. During the week different official stations like Bayern 3 or West 3 show regularly repeats. Since 2011 the series is also available on DVD. Lena Odenthal alias Ulrike Folkerts is one of the successful detectives of the series.
